Your Policy

Q - What is included in my home warranty?
A - There are several different Liberty Home Protection warranty plans. Our home warranty plans cover your household systems and appliances from inactivity and put less risk on your budget. When a covered unit malfunctions in your home, the item is repaired or replaced. We have five flexible plans to choose from, with four convenient payment plan options. Save up to 22% when you pay annually.

Q - How do I put in a request for service?
A - You should have received your Liberty Home Protection Welcome Kit shortly after having requested warranty coverage. Within this kit will be all the information and materials you need. You have several options. You can locate the toll free numbers within this package and also on the website. For immediate electronic assistance, please visit our Contact us page. Your call will be immediately answered, 24/7/365 by a customer service representative who will expedite your request.

Q - What if I have an emergency over the weekend?
A - Not a problem. Simply contact 1-800-358-8102 to report the problem, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We will schedule the dispatch of a qualified service technician as early as we can to see to it that the issue is rectified.

Q - We are thinking of selling our home in the near future. We heard homes sell quicker with home warranties attached. Can we keep the Liberty Home Protection home warranty in place as an incentive to attract buyers?
A - Yes. You can transfer our warranty to the new owners. It is all part of the Liberty Home Protection seamless transition. The transfer processing fee is $15.00 - a small investment that pays for itself, multiple times over.

Q - Are there pre-existing conditions that will deem my household appliances and systems ineligible for coverage?
A - Items which are damaged by rust, corrosion, mold or mildew will not be eligible for coverage under the Liberty Home Protection warranty. Additonally, those items which have accumulated chemical, bacterial and sedimentary deposits are deemed unsuitable for inclusion in coverage. Insect infestation or any type of pet/pest damage on the parts of or within the units are not considered acceptable for coverage. Loss or damage that is the result of gross misuse, abuse or general negligence will also render the unit unsuitable for coverage.

Taking care of your appliances and household systems is recommended for optimum economy and performance functioning. Please be sure to view our Home Maintenance 101 page, which is accessible off the Liberty Home Protection Learning Center.

Q - Will there be a charge for filing multiple claims? In other words, is there a cap on how many claims can be filed within a given time period?
A - No. We know that it is beyond our abilities to control the rate of appliance and system breakdown. Hence, we do not believe in placing unfair restrictions on our clients. Remember, when something breaks, we will be there to fix it!

Q - Is there a fee for service visits?
A - Yes. LHP offers consumers the choice of 2 deductibles - $50 or $75; consumers can now choose the alternative deductible of $75 to obtain a lower premium. The service fee is due during the visit by the certified trade professional. Comparatively, this will save you hundreds or thousands of dollars, should you not have savings from which to draw from for unexpected emergencies.

Q- How long does it usually take to get serviced, once it is requested?
A - The timespan on the service request through the completion of service is typically accomplished within 48 hours. With qualifying circumstances and emergencies, the turnaround time is much quicker.

Q - When does coverage begin and how long is the commitment?
A - The term of this agreement begins thirty (30) days after your enrollment date, also known as the "effective date," and ends one month thereafter. There is no commitment. Simply choose to enroll using our convenient annual, quarterly or monthly rate. By structuring it this way, we are giving you the choice to pay as you go or pay in advance! Don't forget to check out the discounts you can get when you select the annual plan.

Q - What else comes with my plan? Are there additional services I can take advantage of?
With the Liberty Home Protection plan, in addition to peace of mind coverage, you will also be provided with toll free numbers to call for homeowner advice, review of 3rd party service quotes and the ability to access other expert service professionals for related services.

Q - Is there a contract?

A - At Liberty Home Protection, we are sympathetic to your needs for flexibility, convenience and security. This is why you can elect to have home warranty coverage with us and you will never be asked to sign a contract!

Q - Will I have to have a home inspection performed in order to qualify?
A - No. We welcome households with appliances and systems of all types and ages. There is never a home inspection. If you are a homeowner, you qualify for the Liberty Home Protection home warranty.

Q - My home is over 5,000 square feet. Will I have to pay extra?
A -Unlike other home warranty plans, Liberty Home Protection puts no size limits on your home’s coverage. In fact, many competitors request additional fees if your home is more than 5,000 square feet.

Q - What can I do if I am not satisfied with service received?

General

Q - How is a home warranty or appliance warranty different than the manufacturer warranty that is available with most appliance purchases?
A - The major difference between the two is that manufacturer appliance warranties are designed to cover factory defects. Whereas a home warranty covers a whole spectrum of breakdowns that can occur with the wear and tear that results with usage over time – manufacturer warranties are limited and restricted and specifically for brand new appliances. Conversely, the Liberty Home Protection home warranty will cover your appliances for all makes, models and ages.

Q - How is the Liberty Home Protection home warranty different than homeowner insurance?
A - Homeowner insurance protects your home and items within from catastrophic disasters and acts of God such as earthquakes, hurricanes, fires, freezing, floods, lightning, soil erosion, riots, theft, hail and others. The home warranty provided by Liberty Home Protection sees to it that your appliances and other household systems are operating at top performance levels at all times and saves you the scheduling and financial inconveniences that result from their malfunctioning.

Q. Is the Liberty Home Protection home warranty designed for home buyers and sellers only?
A - Liberty Home Protection is pleased to provide one of the most economical and efficient ways to guard your appliances and systems and invites anyone who is involved in the home buying and selling process - for both personal and professional use to consider the home warranty of Liberty Home Protection as the definitive home warranty.

Q - If some of my appliances are still covered by my manufacturer’s warranty, can I still enroll in a home warranty plan from Liberty Home Protection?
A – Yes. You can still enroll in one of the home warranty plans from Liberty Home Protection even if some of your manufacturer warranty coverage is still active for certain appliances. We will pay for repair and/or replacement expenses not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

Q - I live in a condominium. Can I still get warranty coverage?

A – Yes. Unlike other warranty providers, Liberty Home Protection welcomes all homeowners and encourages them to seek the peace of mind that only warranty coverage from Liberty Home Protection can provide. We also cover single-family residences, town homes, modular homes and manufactured homes that have been anchored to a permanent foundation. Coverage under the Liberty Home Protection plans is for residential dwellings only.

Q - Are there other stipulations which will render any of my appliances and systems ineligible for coverage?
A – You will want to make sure that all your household systems and appliances have been properly installed and maintained in order to be eligible for warranty protection through Liberty Home Protection.

Repair vs. Replacement Issues

Q -What kind of model can I expect to replace one of my appliances that may be beyond repair?
A - We will make every effort to replace your appliance with a like model. If the brand isn't available, we will replace it with a comparable brand. If the model is no longer manufactured, we will replace your appliance with a comparable brand.

Q -  At what point is it recommended that I dispose of my appliances?
A - It is recommended that you replace appliances when the cost to repair them is more than half the value of a new model. As a general rule of thumb, if the old unit is more than seven years old, you may want to consider replacing it. The higher up in years the appliance gets, the higher the cost of repair will be – which will often exceed the cost of a replacement unit. For a better idea on this, you may want to reorient yourself with the prices of appliances today.

Q -Is it worth it to make repairs on an older appliance that will require the securing and installation of replacement parts?
A - Well, that depends. In many cases, replacement parts are difficult to locate and expensive. In fact, many of the replacement parts of the latest models are also hard to find. If you invest a large sum of money repairing and replacing a part in one of your appliances, be sure it is worth it. Specifically, be sure the rest of the parts are up to par.

Q - Will I be reimbursed for service performed by outside service technicians?
